KOD-CD

The KODcd is designed to provide a (C)arrier (D)etect via data received from a modem or a data radio that doesn't otherwise have carrier detect capability. Data input is at the DB25 male connector, pins #3 & 7 and the output is at the DB25 female connector wired to support a terminal device. CD pin #8 at the output is controlled by the input data which is delayed, then out on pins #3 & 7 of the DB25F. Pins #2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 20, & 22 are wired connector to connector. Power is applied at pin #6 (+12V@ <50 ma.) & common pin #7. The data delay is adjustable and usually set for approximately 6mS to allow time for the keyed CD circuit to synchronize. The delay is selectable in three steps from 3-12mS by an internal jumper. Note: The jumper position nearest the circuit board edge is the longest delay.
Two options are available. An alternate power connection on pin #9 rather than pin #6 of the DB25 or an external 2.1mm power jack. A precision oscillator is also available providing an accurate data delay if required. Other modifications can be supplied on special order. For dimensions and other specs see KOD app note.
